To advance the study of Qiu Jin, this paper analyzes the three fundamental consciousnesses that constitute her perspective on life and death. Heroic consciousness forms the foundation of her outlook on life, whichevolved into the heroic consciousness of self-domination and the collectivism consciousness of "loving life" and "loving the group". Salvation consciousness stemmed from the acute ethnic conflicts and gender inequality of her time. National revolution and feminist movement are the practical avenues for Qiu Jin to realize the value of life. Transcending consciousness represents the ultimate aim of the construction of Qiu Jin"s outlook on life, its starting point is to construct the spiritual life of "the eternal name behind", the basic connotation is immortal, and the value orientation is to sacrifice one"s life for righteousness. The organic combination of these three consciousnesses encapsulates the essence of Qiu Jin"s heroism. Analyzing the true significance of her thoughts on life and death remains highly relevant for constructing a scientific outlook on life in the contemporary era.
